The new year brings new opportunities to re-focus and re-commit to the purposes of God on one’s life.

As the Heartland Supervisor, the scripture that continues to direct me is Isaiah 43:19. The scripture declares,
“Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert” (NASB).

The background of this text is a story of Israel’s captivity. They no doubt were fearful that the captivity would not end in the near future. Likewise, they saw no pathway to their preferred future. Yet, God called them to “BEHOLD” something “NEW.” God’s instruction was that they were not to consider that He would deliver them as He did before, but to set their eyes on a new thing He would do (v. 18). He would “make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert” (v. 19).

What about you?

As you look to all the possibilities in 2019, what do you see? Are you beholding God as the pathway-maker, or seeing the wilderness of no possibilities? Are you only seeing your future through the paradigm of the past, or are you open to a new miracle that you have never seen before?

I invite you to join me on a journey in 2019 to “behold” our God do something “new” to provide a “roadway” through the wilderness and to experience His “river” in the desert. May God richly Bless you and your Family in 2019!!!
